After nearly five years of being on YouTube, Estée Lalonde (fka Essie Button) hit 1 Million Subscribers on her channel. Having achieved such a great milestone after so much hard work, she thought it was only right to have a party - and only right to share the experience with her following.
Three short weeks, a competition and a bit of shopping on ASOS later, myself and 20 other supporters of the lovely Estée, travelled to Raw Duck in Hackney on Thursday evening for a few celebratory drinks, amazing food and some jewelry making.
Under the guidance of the lovely people from The Workbench London, we sat down towards the start of the evening and started to carve what would be silver rings out of blue plastic tabs. Though requiring a good hour's worth of work, alongside chatting with Estée, her lovely boyfriend Aslan, good friend and fellow YouTuber Amelia Liana and some lovely people I was sitting with (#SusannahThePotato), it really didn't feel like long at all, and I found it so, so, so enjoyable - I really can't wait receive the finished product in the post!
After Estée's short, but heartfelt speech, we had the opportunity for lots of drinks (cocktails and mocktails) and a large selection of beautiful, delicious food..
We finished off the night with a bit of socializing, crying about how good dessert was, and having a brief but cute chat with Estée, before leaving and being given the cutest goody-bag I had ever received.
