MUSIC FAVOURITES
July was a interesting month.
Over here in England, we've had a couple of heatwaves that completely reduced - those who were here to bare it - to spending less and less time in the sun and more time lying on the floor at home (heat rises) and using what miniscule slivers of energy we had left to hydrate with the coldest of beer, water and juice. So as you can imagine for me - this month's been pretty chill..
In The Midst Of It All - Tom Misch featuring Sam Wills
Tom Misch has always got it right when remixing songs and creating new ones solo or alongside artists, so when I came across this song (in a vlog I'll talk about a little bit later) I wasn't surprised. So chill, so beautiful. Click on the album art and have a listen.
Jackie and Wilson - Hozier
I've been listening to album while, and because each track averages at brilliant it's hard to choose one favourite song. Angel of Small Death and The Codeine Scene, Cherry Wine, From Eden, and Run (to name a few) have all been past favourites, but now Jackie and Wilson is my current. Whenever it's played I can't help but sing along. I've linked the best recording I've heard above.
If I Could Change Your Mind - Haim
Can we.. Can we just take a moment? I almost feel bad not having discovered this song until maybe a month ago? After HAIM released their EP for the album Days Are Gone, I literally listened to those four songs only and nothing else. (I still don't understand why.) 'If I Could Change Your Mind' is easily my favourite song of the moment (...that's a hard position to fill) and I'm sure since I first heard it I've played it at least five times every day - I'm still in love with it. And yes, before you ask - the video is incredible. Those dance moves though. Linked above.

So, so, so chill. Raury never disappoints. Just go have a listen - click the picture.
(If you end up loving this song much as I do, I think you'll find you will love Cigarette Song by the same artist just as much - and again the music video is beautiful.)

After discovering this song when I was 17, with the days and months that came thereafter, each day I willed on age and maturity so that I could be whatever Matty and the boys apparently needed. I think my willing worked a little too well as I'm 19 now and the guys still haven't been in contact. I regret nothing.
