BAKED EGGS

Hey All,

I hope you've all had a good week - mine has been interesting (I will not comment any further, haha).

I am really enjoying work so far - everyone there is so lovely, helpful but most importantly for me - funny. Hilarious even. I am looking forward to the next year I have with them, and all the fun we're likely to have. Laughing most of the day definitely takes away from the tiredness I feel having to wake up at 5:45AM each day to leave half an hour later in the hope I'll make it to work before 8AM - on a good day. As you can imagine, those hours in the morning leave me little time to enjoy a breakfast before I leave - and I hate that, as I always feel terrible after I've finished my 20 minute walk to the train station, and having to stand on a overly-packed, over-heated train for the best part of an hour (or longer), before standing for a further 8 to 12 hours at work.....So on the weekends I like to treat myself. And this Saturday I had baked eggs.

KILNER

Over the past year I have featured Kilner Jars a lot on my blog and my instagram. I fell for the increasing trend of eating and drinking out of these preserving jam jars. The idea is ridiculous, and I can't help but laugh at the investment I made into using them as frequently as I could, and featuring them as much as I did on my instagram.

By now, you're probably trying to work out what point I'm trying to make, why I'm blogging about KILNER if they're definitely not sponsoring me, and why you're wasting your time reading about the same jars you've seen in your nightmares these past few months..

Well.. isn't it amazing that they have such power? Every blogger worth their salt at least owns a couple, has at blogged about it at least twice and had shared whatever they're done with their jars on social media.. All because it's trendy, not because they're practical.

Wouldn't it be amazing to have such influence?

Just a thought,

MUSIC FAVOURITES

...../NOVEMBER

Now that I'm finally a full-time working gal, commuting into work (almost) daily means my day starts and ends with music. Which is ironic, as I have less free time than before, but music has somehow worked its way into my schedule, so much so, I listen to up to three hours of tunes a day.
It's great.

Spotify has definitely been a friend when it comes to discovering new music, and the last couple months of browsing on the app has led me to start listening to a few new faces.

JUSTIN BIEBER
Now before you slam your laptops shut, or throw your phone across the room in disgust... Really think about it. Of recent, he's got better hasn't he? I've even enjoyed listening to some of his older music - the few albums I ignored after he came out with 'Baby'. He really isn't that bad.

I looooove the beat of this track. I listen to it when power walking to the station at 6:15. It wakes me up and honestly puts me in a good mood. Also keeps me in time while walking, so I'm working in a little bit of cardio before sitting (or standing) on my first train for 40 minutes.

This is clearly about his break-up with Selena, but I really don't hear that when I listen to the song. Again I listen to him in the morning so it's really about waking up, and this particular song does just that. Excluding everything I've said above, the song's rather sexy too. Haha.

BREACH

A couple years ago, a group I had never heard of before, BREACH, released a song called Jack. Being reaaaaaally into house back then, I listened to it at least 5 times a day for two months straight, until I obviously grew tired of it. Two years later, I am completely obsessed with it again. I listen to it when changing trains, and walk to the beat of the song to get me to the next platform FAST. You can laugh all you want, but it works my friend, it works.

JOHN VINCENT III

While watching a favourites video on TheLineUpMenswear, they briefly spoke about this song and I thought since they usually have very good taste in music (their videos stand as a testimony to that) I decided to have a listen. Very reminiscent of James Bay, I fell in loooove with the song. I've been too lazy to try and listen to anything else by him, but Lost/Inside Our Minds will definitely be a favourite for the next few months.

SUNBEAMSJESS on YouTube has also inspired me to browse SoundCloud for amazing music and beats submitted by aspiring artists, DJ's and the likes to the social platform. I've found a good few tracks I've fallen deeply in love with and really want to share with you all, so here they are.

Wantyouback. - El.Train I can't say enough about this song. I want to do this track justice, so I won't say much and will leave it up to you all to go and have a listen. It's a remix of the Jackson 5's Want You Back but with a funky twist, that I have to say, I like as much as the original - and that's saying something.

MAXWELL YOUNG
This whole section is dedicated to his music, most of which are featured on his soundcloud. I seriously can't get enough of Maxwell and his genre. I am IN LOVE. When listening, think "the beginning of every Casey Neistat vlog". Now go have a listen.

BURNT OUT + GREEN JUICE RECIPE

Hey Guys,

I'm still not having a good time.

I'm sure things will get much better though.

Today and tomorrow are my days off, so I'm really taking time out to relax, sleep and recharge, because I don't know whether I'll go back to work the five days I should do, or seven, or longer...

GREEN SMOOTHIE

INGREDIENTS

One Large Handful of Spinach
One Medium Sized Banana
A Small Handful of Blueberries
A Handful of Grapes
and One Small Pot of Yoghurt

Optional
A Tablespoon of Flaxseed
Honey (As much as you want baby)

METHOD

Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth and liquid. If too thick, loosen up with water or juice. Pour into your favourite glass and enjoy.

Whenever I'm feeling run down, and the weather starts to get really cold, I try to have a green juice. I find it really lifts my spirits and helps recharge my batteries, so it's perfect for a day like this one. It's a rainy day in Essex, and I'm not planning on leaving the house any time soon, so I'm snuggled up on the sofa in my favourite dressing gown, typing this post while sipping blended banana, spinach and yoghurt and comtemplating uni work.. Hmm.

Happy Thursday,

Christina x
