APRIL FAVOURITES.

Hey Guys!

I hope you've been enjoying the frequent uploads! I've kinda had a blogging kick over the past week and a bit, and I genuinely feel bad when I don't post, I feel as if I've let someone out there down! So the inspiration I have had over the last week has led me to write quite a few posts (with much better photography) that should be coming your way very soon. I think my main day for posting will be Sundays around 7PM (GMT), but I am very likely to post random ones throughout the week, so make sure you come back for those!

Anyway, let's get right into this - it's my April Favourites! Here's a rather large selection of what I have loved this month. Get yourself a coffee or tea and read on!

SKINCARE
Simple Kind To Skin Protecting Light Moisturizer - Now the name is slightly misleading, because I find the product to be a thick and quite a heavy cream, BUT - it's a m a z i n g when it comes to moisturizing the skin. And with the SPF at 15, you don't get a white or blue cast, it just dries (slightly shiny, but) clear.
Garnier Skin Naturals Micellar Cleaning Water - I reckon you've heard of it by now, but if you haven't, let me enlighten you. It's a makeup remover, but also a cleanser. It's best used with cotton pads, lightly swept all over the face. It's literally just like water - it doesn't sting your eyes, it doesn't have a noticeable scent, it doesn't leave your skin feeling weird - you'd actually not be far off it you thought it was just water, but it cleans like a dreaaaaaam. For example, it takes off waterproof mascara really well for what it is. Overall, money well spent.
Vaseline Queen Bee - Throughout the winter months our skin tends to get very dry. So I have been rinsingggg my Vaseline. It's not so great for chapped lips, but for under the eyes, around the mouth, on the eyebrows and even on the eyelashes - YES! Before bed every now and again, I apply Vaseline in these areas, go to bed, wake up in the morning and my skin (and eyebrows) feel soft and plump. And why do I apply it to my eyelashes? It removes the last remnants of mascara from my lashes, leaving them ready for another application the next day!
(A Rather Dirty Looking) Toothbrush - Now this here, has been a lifesaver for my unruly edges, I put a bit of hair gel on my hairline, brush it back using this toothbrush (this is usually after I've applied my makeup, which is why the top is looking brown) and my edges stay in place all day. P.S. I only use this toothbrush for my hair! Not for my teeth!!! Haha
St. Ives Naturally Clear Apricot Scrub - Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness. If you haven't heard of this by now then I'm glad you're here. Because you need to hear this - it's incredible. Removes dirt and dead skin like a dream and leaves you skin feeling smooth and soft. It visibly reduces the size of blackheads and contains salicylic acid so helps your skin avoid breakouts. I've been using this for a few years, and I'm glad I have, it's made such a difference in my skin's texture and complexion. It's your best friend in the bathroom, believe me.

MAKEUP
Real Techniques Multitask Brush - LOL, as the name suggests, it's the most versatile brush I have ever used. I have used it to apply and blend in liquid foundation, set foundation with powder, use it to blend in a contour cream and powder and have used it to blend away concealer around the eyebrow area - absolutely amazing, please go get it now. It's just so much easier to use a couple brushes when doing your makeup, isn't it? Also , watch the creators of the brushes on YouTube - pixiwoo
Collection Fast Stroke Eyeliner - This is the cheapest and the best liquid liner I have ever used. Being real. It has a very thin tip, picks up a good amount of product, and dries fast, so your makeup doesn't get smudged during the process of you applying the rest of your makeup.
Lo'real True Match Foundation in Cappucino - MY FAVOURITE FOUNDATION EVERRR, haha. But no seriously, being real? It's the highest on my list. I have oily/combination skin which means halfway through the day, I look like I have brushed coconut oil all over my face - I'm not joking. But while wearing this foundation, that rarely happens. Of course I still powder once or twice, but it keeps up for a good twelve hours, which makes it perfect for wearing to university. About to go purchase my third bottle.
Revlon Lipstick in Mink - A perfect nude for me. Worn over a good brown lip pencil it looks incredible. The only fault with this product for me, is that it has a pinky undertone, which isn't my favourite. But it's a good lipstick nonetheless.

APPAREL
TOPSHOP Leather Tote Bag - Beautiful. Elegant. Classy. Sporty. Sexy. Everything I want in a bag and everything this bag is. This definitely is my favourite bag at the moment, but it's a very big change for me because it's a small bag! Well, smaller than what I'm used to. The bag's structure and style keep it cute and classy, yet the leather and the perforated sides toughen it up and give it a sporty feel. Perfect for the Sport Luxe trend I'm very much into at the moment.

Dune Black Tassel Shoes - These shoes my Mum gifted me after I was complaining my feet were tired after long days or services at university. These stylish shoes have honestly made everything better. Sometimes these services can last up to eight hours, with me being on my feet the whole time. These shoes have just made them bearable. Thank you.
Nike Training Trainers - Unfortunately I don't know the proper name for these (and I'm quite annoyed with myself as I'm very into the Nike brand) but they are an amazing trainer nonetheless. They are sooooo comfortable, and actually motivate me to work out. I love the almost neon yellow pop of colour on them, and the completely bendy bottom! Which makes them perfect for things like yoga where you feet will need to bend weird ways (i.e. Downward Dog). They have a great amount of grip so would also be really good for running. Just a well made, well thought out trainer.

FOOD AND DRINK
Nutella - Need I say more?
Nescafe Instant Coffee Pouches - On days when I have to get up early in the morning, I crave a cappuccino from Starbucks or Costa. But then I remember I have to walk all the way into town for it. #Failing so early in the morning leads me to drown my sorrows in a good Nescafe. They're a decent cup of coffee for what it is. You have the frothy coffee shop stuff on top - which makes me feel like a barista whenever I make it - but requires very minimal effort on your part, all you have to do is stir the contents of the sachet into hot water. TIP: If you're feeling naughty, stir a spoon (or five) of Nutella into your morning coffee. You're welcome.
White Wine - If you know me, you know I love a good glass of white. This was, is and will still continue to be a favourite. The one pictured above I'm yet to try, but I got it from ALDI for a fiver. Yes. (And it's the first bottle of wine I've ever bought by myself. And the first time I used I.D. to get it.)

MUSIC

Parent's House by Colleagues - Oh how do I do this song justice? I really don't think I can but I'll give it a try. The song's upbeat, engaging melodies and beat not only capture your attention and emotions, but holds on for dear life and won't let go. ***I think I have listened to this song more than 100 times since I found it.*** Parents' House is reminiscent of the high points of summer spent with your friends in your early teenage years, and is a reminder of the realness of young love you likely now laugh off at the thought at. Colleagues quietly released this track on their YouTube channel in early 2014 (around this time last year) and just like the video, the song tells parts of a love story between two teens, from the boy's point of view. This Swedish five-piece have my attention and hopefully now have yours.

Pumped Up Kicks by Foster The People - I know this song has been out for quite a while, and I have heard it before but I never knew what it was called until my brother revealed it to me. At my time home over Easter, my brother and I were washing up dinner plates together (I know, how cute are we) and we usually do so while listening to music. I put 'Best Friend by Foster the People (Alex Brandt) Remix' on and Andre went insane and had to know what that song was and who it was by. When I told him, his initial shock disappeared. I asked him why, and he played Pumped Up Kicks and said "Foster The People have always made good music Christina, I just can't believe I didn't know about Best Friend before.". Andre is so cool.

Wet Dreamz by J.Cole - 2014 Forest Hills Drive is J.Cole's newest release and I must say it's greatly appreciated. I was waiting for the longest time since he released his very first album - The Sideline Story - because it contained a lot of truths. So when this album came out I was all over it. And my favourite song at the moment is Wet Dreamz, because of how relevant it is. The song basically tells the story of the lead up to and the event of his and a girl's first time, but leaves the end on a cliffhanger - which I am grateful for - and I'm also glad we don't know really what happened. Did they or didn't they? I must say though, the song makes me really sad. It's something to think about...

Thank you for reading this one. There'll be more next week..
